TR#207.

Short Annapurna Trek Overview

The Annapurna Trek is one of the most popular and iconic trekking routes in Nepal, renowned for its stunning mountain vistas, diverse landscapes, and rich cultural experiences. Located in the Annapurna Conservation Area, the trek offers a unique blend of natural beauty, traditional villages, and vibrant ethnic communities.

The Annapurna region is home to several towering peaks, including Annapurna I, the 10th highest mountain in the world, and other notable peaks such as Annapurna II, III, and South. Trekking through this region provides an opportunity to witness breathtaking views of these majestic mountains, as well as traverse through lush valleys, rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and cascading waterfalls.

The region is also inhabited by various ethnic groups, primarily the Gurung, Magar, and Thakali communities, each with their own distinct culture, traditions, and warm hospitality. Along the trek, you can visit traditional villages, interact with locals, and experience their unique way of life. Additionally, you may have the chance to explore ancient monasteries, prayer flags, and stone chortens, which add a spiritual and cultural aspect to the journey.

Although the actual Annapurna  trek might take a time between 8 and 12 days, depending on where you start and end. The Short Annapurna Trek itinerary designed by Rolwaling Trek  can be enjoyed by all age groups and fitness levels. If you are short on time, this trek can take you into the heart of the Annapurnas in just a few days.

The trek begins with Trek to Phedi after landing at Pokhara. From Phedi the trek will continue to Australian Base Camp and then to Dhampus. The trek will come to an end after flight from Pokhara back to Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, if you opt for a longer trip, you can enjoy Annapurna Circuit Trek and Annapurna Sanctuary trek where you can wander across a typical Nepalese landscape with terraced fields, agricultural villages, and the snow-capped Himalayas in the distance.

On the second day, you trek to Phedi and walk to Australian Camp. A 2-3 hour climb will get you to Australian Camp and reward you with excellent views of the Annapurna Range, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South Hiuchuli, Annapurna II and IV, Lamjung Himal, and nearby peaks.Instead of trekking from Phedi to Australian Camp, you can take a scenic drive to Dhampus and then trek for 3 hours to Australian Camp.
