GANGCHEMPO PEAK CLIMBING
Flutted Peak
EX#511.
Gangchempo Peak Climbing Overview
The Gangchempo peak is located in the Rasuwa district, at a height of 6378m, 60 kilometers north-east of Kathmandu. Gangchempo peak climbing is considered as one of the best climbing destinations within the Langtang region.
Langtang Valley is the closest Himalayan region to Kathmandu and is regarded as one of Nepal’s most beautiful regions. Though fewer tourists visit these locations in Nepal than the Everest and Annapurna regions.
Gangchempo is surrounded by several peaks, mountains, and high passes. Tilman Pass and Dorje Lakpa are located in the east, Langtang Valley, Langtang Lirung, Nayakhang are located in the west, Lingsing Valley of Sindhupalchok is located in the south, and Shishapangma (8,027 m), the 14th highest mountain in the world, is located in Tibet (China).
Gangchempo Peak Climbing Route
The Gangchempo peak climbing adventure begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi. To reach Syabrubesi, we will take a stunning new rough route via Middle Hills, Tirsuli, Kalikasthan, Ramche, and Dhunche.
The journey is followed by a trek from Syabrubesi to Langtang village, Kyanjin Gompa, Tserko Ri, and the Gangchempo peak base camp. The trek continues from base camp with acclimatization at the multiple camps in the trail. After reaching the summit we will be back to base camp from where we will return to Kathmandu via helicopter.
