Naya Kanga Peak, also known as Ganja La Chuli, is one of the most popular peak climbing destination in Nepal. With the height of 5,844m, this peak lies to the north of Kathmandu valley at the Langtang Region.

The Naya Kanga Peak climbing lets the trekkers view the Langtang valley, mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, and other sights from the peak’s summit.  The majority of the path leading to Naya Kanga Peak passes through captivating communities, distinctive scenery, and rhododendron forests.

The mountain, which rises to a height of 5,844 meters, has been classified as a non-technical climb that requires an average degree of fitness to reach the top. The trail follows the well-known Langtang Valley, where one may take in the stunning views of the Tibetan summits Shishapangma (8,064m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Yala Peak (5,500m), Pemathang Ri (6,836m), Langtang Lirung (7,425m), Langshisha Ri (6,370m) (6,370m), and Dorje Lakpa (6,966m).

Along with breathtaking scenery, the trail offers a unique opportunity to discover culture. The area is rich in Buddhist-Tibetan culture, and various old gompas and monasteries, including Kyanjin Gompa (3870m), bless thousands of trekkers each year.

Naya Kanga Peak Climbing Route

After a breathtaking 9-hour trip from Kathmandu, our Naya Kanga Peak Trekking path begins in Syabrubesi, 1505 meters above sea level. The trail follows the valley of Langtang. The trail leads to the old Buddhist monastery at Kyanjing Gompa. Near Kyanjing, two peaks are excellent for acclimatization. We will climb Kyangjin Ri (4350m) or Tsergo Ri (4983m) and take in more breathtaking vistas, depending on our energy levels.

The trail to Naya Kanga Peak leads south from Kyangjin Gompa to Nyengang Kharka, where we set base camp. The uphill climb begins at Camp 1.
